The fit column below is our interpretation of documented scope. Unanswered diligence questions are not findings that a supplier lacks the capability.
| Option | What the reviewed source supports | Appropriate comparison | What remains to establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deskimate | Describes estimate writing from virtual, carrier and third-party scopes; also offers broader claims and TPA services. (deskimate.com) | Estimate-writing support versus internal drafting; broader services only under separately matched scope | Boundaries between production and handling authority; package contents; correction and supplement terms |
| SeekNow Estimate Writing | Describes licensed-adjuster estimates based on SeekNow inspection data, with ESX and XML delivery. Its FastEstimate offering is separately described as a draft that the carrier’s adjuster finishes. (seeknow.com) | Inspection-linked estimate writing versus the combined incumbent inspection-and-production route | Inspection cost allocation, outside-input eligibility, revision scope and live import performance |
| Alacrity Solutions | Describes residential and commercial property estimate reviews, plus fast-track estimating for specified light property losses. (alacritysolutions.com) | Technical review or a specifically scoped estimating service | Which property services are included in the proposed contract; whether review includes correction |
| Verisk Xactimate and XactAnalysis | Verisk documents estimate creation in Xactimate and assignment, status, photograph, document and completed-estimate exchange through XactAnalysis. (developerportal.verisk.com) | Software-enabled internal production or infrastructure supporting a service provider | Operator effort, entitlements, configuration, QA ownership and integration costs |
| Cotality Estimate and Validate | Estimate provides estimating workflows and diagramming; Validate describes configurable rules and automated estimate review. (cotality.com) | Estimating and validation software versus the equivalent tools-and-people arrangement | Required modules, carrier-rule configuration, review coverage and retained labour |
| ABBYY | Describes classification, extraction, validation and routing of claims documents. (abbyy.com) | A document-processing component within an owned production workflow | Performance on the carrier’s property evidence; exception effort; connection to estimating and acceptance |
| Hover | Describes guided capture, measurements, sketches, labelled photographs and connections to Xactimate and Cotality. (help.hover.to) | Evidence preparation and field-to-desk standardisation | Whether better inputs reduce returns; downstream work still required; actual data transfer |
| Guidewire ClaimCenter | Describes management of the claims lifecycle and an ecosystem of applications and integrations. (guidewire.com) | The orchestration environment in which production operates | Whether the production problem requires configuration, an integration or a service—not a core replacement |
The alternative depends on the function being replaced. A carrier considering a managed package should compare it with an improved internal team and a fully specified outsourced package. An estimate-writing bureau is comparable only after pricing the reports, intake handling, QA and integration that remain elsewhere.
Similarly, buying estimating software is not equivalent to hiring a production operator. Verisk’s documented workflow explicitly places estimate creation with the assigned staff adjuster, adjusting firm or service provider before the file returns to the carrier. (developerportal.verisk.com)
A useful shortlist therefore contains different delivery models with normalised scope, rather than a long list of companies sharing an “AI claims” label.
