Do-it-yourself game plans

Use a gated plan, not an unsupported “typical implementation” promise.

How long should the complete DIY build take?

For a narrow operation using existing systems and experienced staff, the following is a proposed 12–16-week planning schedule. It is not an observed market average.

Planning period Main work Gate
Weeks 1–2 Charter, baseline extraction and stakeholder ownership Scope and measurement approved
Weeks 2–4 Acceptance pack, input standard, authority and compliance review Requirements approved
Weeks 3–6 Workflow configuration, access, transfers and reporting End-to-end test completed
Weeks 5–7 Training, calibration and supervised practice Staff authorised for selected work
Weeks 7–12 Controlled pilot and correction tracking Quality, cost and usability assessed
Weeks 12–16 Remediation, surge testing and restricted rollout Cross-functional launch decision

A new platform, unresolved licensing, external recruitment or custom interfaces should be separately scheduled. Do not assume those dependencies fit inside this example.

There is likewise no verified universal “hours per file” turnaround in this research. Set internal intake, production, review and exception-response targets only after measuring the pilot, and ensure they support applicable claims obligations.
