The strongest evidence is a mix of financing, broader claims-services consolidation, workflow integration and supplier expansion. It is not a clean transaction series for standalone US file-production companies.
What changed during the most recent twelve months?
| Date | Activity and disclosed figure | Status established by reviewed source | Relevance to a carrier buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 January 2026 | XBuild: $19 million Series A, led by N47, with Rackhouse Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz participating | Financing announced by the company | Adjacent competition in AI-assisted construction estimating; do not treat its project activity as carrier acceptance evidence. (prnewswire.com) |
| 30 December 2025 | Davies completed its acquisition of SCM Insurance Services; purchase price not disclosed in the reviewed report. Davies reported approximately £18.7 million EBITDA before synergies added by the acquisition | Completion confirmed in Davies’ FY26 mid-year report | Canadian-led claims-services consolidation, not a pure US production acquisition. EBITDA is not purchase consideration. (davies-group.com) |
| 29 December 2025 | SeekNow expanded estimate-writing scope and volume during 2025; no contract value or numerical growth rate disclosed | Supplier operating update | Inspection providers are extending further into estimating; obtain separate prices for inspection and production. (seeknow.com) |
| 26 February 2026 | Openly selected claimtouch for personal-property pricing and valuation; commercial value undisclosed | Selection reported by Insurance Innovation Reporter | A named carrier adoption signal in contents valuation, adjacent to building-repair file production—not evidence of an open sourcing opportunity. (iireporter.com) |
| 13 April 2026 | Nearmap described integration of itel’s materials intelligence, following its 2025 acquisition; price undisclosed in the reviewed releases | Subsequent company update confirms the acquisition as part of its platform development | An adjacent data and workflow combination relevant to evidence and repair-versus-replace inputs. Which older transactions still affect current diligence?
Two earlier announcements remain important, but they must be dated and classified correctly.
Alacrity’s recapitalisation—not an acquisition price. Alacrity announced completion of a transaction on 3 March 2025 that provided $175 million of new capital and eliminated approximately $1 billion of debt. Those amounts describe financing and balance-sheet changes; they are not a valuation of property claims file production. For buyers, the appropriate follow-up is current financial-condition and continuity diligence, not an inference that service has deteriorated. (alacritysolutions.com)
Verisk–AccuLynx—not safely described as either completed or simply abandoned. The proposed transaction carried a $2.35 billion price. Verisk announced termination in December 2025, but the Delaware Court of Chancery ruled on 7 August 2026 that the termination was invalid and ordered continued performance. Subsequent appeal materials were available on the Delaware court website when reviewed; this research did not verify a completed acquisition or final appellate resolution. (sec.gov)
The procurement implication is limited but important: treat ownership and integration assumptions as diligence questions until transaction status is established. Do not count the proposed consideration as completed deal flow.
Can these transactions establish valuation multiples or sector growth?
No. The selected records mix a venture financing, an acquisition with undisclosed consideration, a recapitalisation, a disputed merger and operating announcements. Adding their figures would create a misleading “market investment” total. (prnewswire.com)
This review found no defensible public transaction multiple for a standalone US carrier-file-production business. It also found no disclosed annual contract value for a directly comparable carrier procurement award.
