Following its 16 October notice, the NAIC opened comments on version 6.0 of its AI Risk Evaluation Supplement, with responses due by close of business on 30 October 2026. The working-group page identifies it as an exposure draft. (content.naic.org)

Buyer action: Ask claims, compliance and technology teams to identify which production tools extract evidence, draft narratives, propose estimate items or influence review routing. Record the business owner and supplier for each. Have counsel assess the consultation separately from obligations already applicable in your operating states.

Do not describe a supplier as “NAIC approved” merely because it offers an AI governance document.
